Khagrachhari is a hilly region of Bangladesh situated to the North-most side of Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT). It was updated to District in 1983; before that it was under the sub division ‘Ramgarh’ with its headquarters at Khagrachhari. Khagrachhari has its border with the Tripura state of India. It is a place of various tribal inhabitants.
One of the great attractions of Khagrachhari is the Alutila Cave which is one of the hilly caves in the country. Sajek, one of the most popular tourist places is another attractions from Khagrachhari, though the Sajek is geographically situated under the administrative area of Rangamati District.
The travel covers the Alutila Cave, Khagrachhari Hill District Council Horticulture Park (HDCH Park) and Resang Jhorna of Khagrachhari district and the most attractive place – Sajek, the union which is situated at the highest land from sea level in the country. Sajek is well known as ‘Sajek Valley’ which is a hill valley from North to South and is surrounded with clouds most of the time throughout the year. Administratively Sajek Valley is situated under Rangamati district but easy to enter from Dhaka through Khagrachhari district. In the morning and evening travelers get a marvelous view of cloudy hills from Sajek Valley.
The other three spots are near Khagrachhari city. The Resang Jorna flows with its full strength in the rainy season but in autumn it looks also beautiful. The Alutila Cave is a mysterious cave with a length 100 meters surrounded by deep green forest. The Khagrachhari HDC Horticulture Park is a beautiful park with a collection greens. Travelers also get the local hand-made products here.
