Rema-Kalenga is one of the natural forests in Bangladesh that is still in green condition. The forest is located in Chunarughat of Habiganj district. It is a protected forest and wildlife sanctuary. Rema-Kalenga Wildlife Sanctuary was established in 1982 and now it is on an area of 1795.54 hectares as of 2009.
The forest currently has 37 species of mammals, 167 species of birds, 7 species of amphibian, 18 species of reptiles and 638 species of plants. The forest is well known for a variety of rare bird species, like racket tailed drongo, parrots, Hill Myna, Red Headed Trogon, Red Whiskered Bulbul, White-rumped Vulture, Kalij Pheasant, Red Jungle Fowl, owl, kingfisher, eagle etc. Three species of monkeys – Kullu, lajjabati Resas monkey and night monkey – live here. There are other significant animals in the forest.
The tour covers not only the Rema-Kalenga but also the Satchari National Park. The Satchai National Park is situated in Raghunandan hill under Chunarughat Upazila of Habiganj district.
